QUINTA DE SÃES – RESERVA 2006 (DÃO)

The Dão region is surrounded by mountains, in the arid zone of Viseu, located in central northern Portugal. It is a typical wine region where were produced the most fine Portuguese wines in the 60’s and the 70’s but was overshadowed by the sudden emergence of the Alentejo and the Douro regions. Alvaro Castro is a great winemaker in the Dão region. Audacious and provocative, he excels at revealing the aromas of the Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Alfrocheiro varieties, planted on granitic soils, which constitutes the body of that “Reserva”, floral, with fine tannins and an excellent length in mouth.
