Quinta da Vacariça

François Chasans

François Chasans is a caviste in Paris and in 1998 he tried a Bairrada that made him want to make wine in the region, in the country where his wife comes from. Quinta da Vacariça has about 3ha, with some old vines and others of recent planting: 2ha of vines in Tamengos 100% Baga, 0.3ha of 90 years old vines with a variety of native white and red varieties and 0.8ha in Ventosa do Bairro Do biodynamic viticulture and seek the maximum representation of the terroir, with planting of various clones, low yields, as well as classic vinifications, long stages, with little intervention. A restless and perfectionist, François explores his terroir as if there were gold inside and after having taken off with his Baga nugget.
