Domaine Baudry

Bernard et Mathieu Baudry
Loire

Bernard Baudry started in 1975 with 2 ha of vines. Today the farm has 30 ha of vineyards, has the effort of son Mathieu, a training ethnologist, and presents a qualitative path that has been confirmed with deserved recognition. The wines come from a single variety, Cabernet-Franc, planted in separate plots with different soils that will define the style of each wine. On sandy and stony soils we will obtain a more fruity and easy wine; clay-limestone soils have a more dense minerality and texture. The vines are plowed, without pesticides, the vinifications are made in cement, stainless steel and vats. This farm represents the classic and “Burgundy” inspired style in Loire wines. Farm with 35 ha of Cabernet-Franc vineyards, planted in different soils that give unique wine profiles. We are in a northern area where the grape can ripen, leaving high acidity and firm tannins. Cabernet-Franc is a grape variety that, in this climate and in well-drained soils, manages to produce deep and long-lived wines.
