This farm with 15 ha of vineyards is located in Poço do Canto, municipality of Mêda, in the Douro Superior, 600 m above sea level, on Estrada das Beiras, in a schist plateau with cooler temperatures and an acidity reminiscent of Dão. Maria Lucinda Todo Bom, whose family has been producing wines since the 1930s, took the lead when she inherited the vineyards in the 1990s with her husband José Cardoso. A traditional structure that counts on the technical support of Mateus Nicolau de Almeida, who has been making wines since 2003 after reorganizing viticulture, betting on Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca red and Rabigato white. The wines are aerial, with a lively and dry style in whites and softer in red, in a not very extracted profile and with a fluid mouth, which does not prevent a beautiful aging capacity as evidenced by the wines of 2006, 2007 in red as blank. Little-known wines that reveal a distinct Douro terroir and that deserve to be promoted. José’s premature death at the end of June 2019 leaves us orphans of a generous producer, who welcomed lovers of Bacchus and Douro with open barbecue.
