In the Marsala area traditionally dedicated to oxidative wines, Nino Barraco with his wife ngela are developing a range of personal wines that combine local and traditional inspiration with a natural approach that seeks more fluid and less concentrated wines, practicing agriculture without chemical intervention . The vineyards are planted in the Trapani area in the Southwest, close to the sea, which impregnates wines with a pronounced saline character. The indigenous varieties Grillo, Catarrato, Zibibbo in white, Nero d’Avola, Pignatello in red constitute the vineyard of a dozen hectares with an age between 8 years and 40 years. The elaborated wines are monovarietal and the vinifications are of minimal intervention. Clay-limestone soils have some more volcanic components (black soils). In the range, in white and rosé, two sea wines (Vignammare and Rosammare) are made, from more recent vineyards with a low alcohol level and complemented with wines that seek to enhance the depth of the terrain. The wines are reflections of the Mediterranean climate with a solar, maritime and savage expression that conveys boldness and complexity.
