Château Cambon

Marie Lapierre et JC Chanudet
Beaujolais

It was in 1995 that fellow Marcel Lapierre and Jean-Claude Chanudet acquired this property, as a new common challenge, extending an old friendship to shine a decadent farm. Since Marcel’s premature death in 2010, Marie Lapierre is the new manager and accompanies Jean-Claude on this project. 17 ha of Gamay vineyards are grown in non-certified organic farming on clayey soil with granite subsoil.
Traditional « Beaujoloises » winemaking in semi-carbonated maceration is made with indigenous yeasts and the wines age in old barrels for 10 months, except for Beaujolais nouveaux bottled at the end of October after the harvest. Depending on the years, the wines (Cuvée du Chat, Château Cambon, Beaujolais Villages) are bottled without the addition of sulphide.
