Os Goliardos - Vinhos de Terroir Europeus

Laura Lorenzo became involved in viticulture in 2000 and gained experience in the Val de Bibei area where she started working for the Dominio del Bibei winery in the southeastern area of ​​Ribeira Sacra. In 2014, rooted in this unique area of ​​Manzaneda (southeastern limit within the designation of origin Ribeira Sacra), she embarked on a personal project with the support of her companion Álvaro Dominguez, a cook by profession, who supports her in viticulture and in the winery. Daterra is the result of collaboration with several winegrowers who have been cultivating old vines for many years (most of them planted in the first half of the 20th century, some of them in free standing) spread around the Val do Bibei, in the Manzaneda and Pobra de Trives area, 2015, on the other side of the Bibei River, already in the Valdeorras DO, growing in partnership with local farmers a total of about 30 plots in a total area of ​​4.5ha. The vines mix red and white grape varieties and the majority are native grape varieties Mencia, Mouratón, Garnacha Tintorera, Gran Noir, Merenzao in red, Doña Blanca, Colgadeira, Godello and Palomino in white.
Laura works in a natural way, but without imposing a rigid vision of methods on her partners, trying to influence by setting an example for them to follow her agronomic vision, sharing material and resources in this area of ​​vineyards in strong slopes and terraces where mechanization is difficult . Charismatic, energetic and with a very strong character, she represents the promising future of Galician viticulture that she builds from the history of the area and from a rich heritage with progressive ideas to give it a new life.
