Farm located in Castelnuovo Berardenga, on a hill where Principessa Coralia Pignatelli della Leonessa lives and manages this castle that has 200 hectares of plantation, with 50 hectares dedicated to the cultivation of vineyards. Purchased in 1968 with her husband to find a peaceful place for retirement age, Coralia quickly fell in love with the vineyard and decided to produce wines in a less rustic style than was generally done in the region, relying on her palate to profile the wines, without the support of winemakers and controlling the whole process from planting to bottling. Castell’in Villa wines are classic, fine and gastronomic, suitable for long aging, as confirmed by the long list of old wines for sale. Coralia invests essentially in the Sangiovese variety and seeks to find in its wines the complex fruit that she loves when she eats the grapes near the harvest. Representative of a noble family, he lives the wine in a simple way, values ​​culture, authenticity, dedication and work, without pretentiousness, and with a keen sense of humor he reveals contempt for the superficial world of wine, as we can see when he declared that at the Vinitaly fair, “in the morning, it’s business, in the afternoon it’s Cocktail Party!”.
