Jean-Paul is a tall and stocky producer, with a rugby player physique, with a soft and sweet voice that makes delicate and airy wines. It grows essentially a feminine and playful variety, the Gamay, in 17 ha, complemented by Chardonnay (3 ha) and Pinot noir (2 ha), which behind its easy and fruity appearance knows how to give wines with structure and race in granite terroirs like Morgon , Moulin à Vent and Fleurie, and knows how to give light wines, aromatically complex and gastronomic, when they come from old vines at low yield in the clay-limestone (or Terres Dorées) soils of Beaujolais (Beaujolais Cuvée première and Cuvée L’Ancien). In addition to the reds, it produces a little white (Beaujolais blanc, Roussanne) from purchased grapes and sparkling wine based on Gamay’s own vines.
