From a vineyard planted in 1954 by António Marques da Cruz, grandfather of the producer, on clay-limestone slopes with the varieties Baga (75%) and others (25%) such as Trincadeira, Castelão and Alicante Bouschet. The grapes were vinified in closed stainless steel vats where it macerated for twenty days. Ageing in 3000l seasoned wood barrels, prior to the bottling in April 2002, without filtration.
