Champagne Laherte

Thierry & Aurélien Laherte
Champagne

Farm located in Chavot near Epernay, which cultivates 10 ha of vineyards with a mosaic of 75 plots located in 3 sub-areas: (1) Côte des Blancs (Vertus and Voipreux) with the Chardonnay variety. (2) Sul d’Epernay slopes (Chavot, Epernay, Vaudancourt, Moussy, Mancy) with the 3 varieties. (3) Vale do Marne (Le Breuil and Boursault) with Pinot Meunier.

Viticulture is organic with biodynamic applications, with the preservation of old vines with old and little-known grape varieties Fromenteau, Arbanne, Petit Meslier, Pinot Blanc, blended with the 3 most used grape varieties (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier) to produce a champagne called Les Cépages. Thierry Laherte and son Aurélien today manage this farm founded in 1889, giving extreme attention to the vineyard, to bring grapes into the press that restore the specificity of each plot. In winemaking, they have been adept at working in wood for over 25 years, with more than 80% of the wines vinified in Foudres or Barrels used and natural and slow fermentations, in a way of working that somewhat resembles Burgundy. The champagnes are pure and firm, with ripe grapes that bring aromatic complexity and depth of flavors.
