Martin Texier

Martin Texier
Rhône

Martin represents a new generation of winegrowers connected to the countryside, promoting a cultivated and environmentally friendly rural lifestyle. To settle down, he restored stone houses with his own hands to live near the vineyards and the animals of his partner, who manages 60 goats for tasty cheese production. Since 2019, he has taken over the cultivation of his parents Laurence and Eric’s vineyards, in addition to his own, and cultivates 10 hectares of vines spread across the Saint-Julien appellation in Saint-Alban on granite and in Brézème on limestone. The area is the southernmost part of the Rhone Nord, where the vineyard coexists with woods and scrubland in a harmonious, diverse landscape of gorges and Mediterranean-scented vegetation. He cultivates Clairette, Grenache gris and Roussanne for white wines, and Syrah, Serine, Cinsault and Grenache for red wines, revealing that we are in a transition zone between North and South. The wines produced are delicate like their parent, precise and delicious.
