António Marquês da Cruz is the fifth generation that takes care of the farm, with vineyards planted since 1957 in the Leiria area, in DOC Encostas de Aire, in an atmosphere of Atlantic influence with high rainfall and dry summers but with morning breezes that give a slow maturation that preserves the aromatic complexity. They cultivate 6 hectares of vines on clay-limestone soil on south-facing slopes, dawns according to biological methods since 1994, long before the biological one became attractive. In addition to Baga and Tinta Miuda, Alfrocheiro, Touriga Nacional and Castelão are planted in red, Arinto and Fernão Pires in white. We discovered António in 2005 years when we started the Goliardos in Portugal and the wines then produced were outside oenological standards, with high acidity, firm tannins, but had a character that distinguished them and the natural approach was in line with the general philosophy of the producer and family history, with the years only fine-tuning the work done. The wines, only bottled in the years considered to be of quality, have a unique profile, with a vinous and authentic side, and reflect the deeply honest and generous person that is António.
