Pommard 1er Cru Grand Clos des Épenots
Vinification with stems. Fermentation begins at low temperature, with daily pigeage and pumping over, followed by a long maceration of around 30 days to fully extract the matter. After fermentation, carbonic maceration takes place, and ageing in wood lasts between 21 and 23 months. No fining or filtering.
Located north of the village of Pommard, this 4.9-hectare clos is a monopole of the estate. The vines were planted in the 1960s and have an east-west exposure. The wines have a high concentration of fine tannins and a complex aromatic range, combining white fruit (peach, ripe apricot) with more classic red fruit.
