Luca Roagna and his father Alfredo work tirelessly inseparable duo to produce surprising and mysterious traditional wines, representing Luca the 5th generation of producers in the family that started the wine business in the middle of the 19th century. They have 14 ha of vineyards essentially in the Barbaresco area with their mythical cuvées (Opera prima, DOC Barbaresco Pajé), but also in Barolo in the Castiglione Falletto area (Barolo La Pira and La Rocca) and Serralunga d’Alba (Barolo Vigna Rionda ). They practice viticulture that considers the vineyard to be equivalent to that of the forest, seeking to preserve the maximum life and diversity in order to create a means capable of creating vital balance, with greater resistance to diseases. The vineyards have a strong vitality, having never been treated with herbicides and pesticides, as was common in the 70s and 80s. On the farm they look for terroir wines, separating each plot and vinifying according to the age of the vines and the characteristics of each land with macerations 30 and 100 days for the “raw” ones with the most potential in large vats, with the cap off. This estate symbolizes respect for tradition, taking advantage of the dynamism that each new generation has to boost the progress of production and the pursuit of excellence, with wines with a very particular touch.
