Envinate

Roberto Santana, Alfonso Torrente, Laura Ramos e Jose Martinez
Canarias

Envinate is a project of a group of 4 friends (Roberto Santana, Alfonso Torrente, Laura Ramos and Jose Martinez) who met at the University and who together make wines in the Ribeira Sacra, Canarias, Extremadura and Albacete, in order to reveal the uniqueness of each terroir.

In the northern part of the island of Tenerife in the Canaries, around the village of Taganana, the Envinate project is led by Roberto, originally from the island and resident here, who rents and buys grapes from small producers in different sub-areas (Mortalágua, Amogoje, …) with strong slopes and very tortuous accesses, forcing the grapes to descend on foot or by metal cable, stimulating them to make a more natural and qualitative viticulture of vines in open feet, reproduced by plunging, in a sublime landscape of sandy terraces and stony, based on soils of volcanic origin, with a wide variety of native grape varieties, as in Negramol red, Listán Negro, Moscatel Negro, Listán Gacho y Vijariego Negro and blank Listán Blanco, Malvasía, Marmajuelo, Albillo, Gual y Forastera.
