Dear hedonists of true wine,
At the beginning of the year, an elementary school teacher with a thoughtful soul — an embodiment of what public service, whether in education, healthcare or community work, can bring out in the best of human beings — replied to our New Year wishes with the following words:
“I recognise myself in this defence of wine as a living gesture rather than a sanitised artefact. Not as an escape, but as a way of being present: attentive to time, to the land, to the hands that work it, and to the risk inherent in everything that is born.
If kombucha wishes to take wine’s place, let it be merely a sign of the times and not a moral victory.
The problem is never the drink itself, but the desire to neutralise everything that involves waiting, failure, learning and intensity. In a world that prefers proper substitutes and experiences without depth, to insist on wine is to insist on an imperfect, sensitive relationship with life itself.
And yet very few people seem willing to live life through ancestral wisdom or to value the path travelled. But here we are, choosing to occupy that place of those who savour life and honour resilient wine.
May the new year preserve in us this fidelity to all that is continually being born, with awakened desire, thoughtful care and joy that needs no instruction manual.”
We feel strengthened and nourished by the ties we have created with other fields of cultural, social, educational and agricultural action, and with all those who care for our natural and human heritage. Through these encounters between mixed cultures and different worlds, we gain perspective and see further.
We hope that the 16th edition of Vinho ao Vivo will become fertile ground where patiently sown seeds may flourish abundantly and lead us all together — winegrowers, musicians, cooks, friends and lovers — towards refreshing territories and inspiring landscapes.

PROGRAMME
WINEGROWERS’ GATHERING and TASTING AT THE PALÁCIO
Campo de Santa Clara (Feira da Ladra, Lisbon)
The tasting will take place at Palácio Sinel de Cordes on Sunday July 5th and Monday July 6th.
Opening hours:
11:00am–1:30pm
4:00pm–8:00pm
One-day tickets are valid for either day and provide access for the entire day.
Animals are not permitted inside the Palace.
The tasting rooms are unfortunately not fully wheelchair accessible, except with assistance.
LUNCH-CONCERT
Between 1:30pm and 4:00pm, the tasting will pause for a garden lunch featuring several outstanding Goliardic cooks, accompanied by musical surprises.
During lunchtime, you will also have the opportunity to purchase bottles from producers not present at the event at special sharing prices.
Food is not included in the tasting ticket and may be purchased on site.
Bring blankets, cushions and picnic cloths so that you can stretch out beneath the giant trees of the garden.
DINNER PARTY AT ESPLANADA À MARGEM
July 5th | Belém, Lisbon
Vinho ao Vivo moves to Belém, one of its favourite terroirs.
8:30pm – Standing dinner with the winegrowers
10:30pm – Concert and celebration
The band will be announced soon.
Dinner-party tickets are available exclusively through Os Goliardos, either separately or as part of a combined ticket including one or two days at the tasting and the evening celebration.
The ticket includes authentic wine.
Sales for the dinner party close on July 1st and may sell out beforehand.
