Jacques Puffeney

Jacques Puffeney
Jura

Jacques Puffeney is a silent man, with the character of a man of the mountains and of the strains, warm in a discreet way, observes and serves visitors without commenting on his wines, which attract many curious people from all over the world who come to visit the so-called “Papa do Arbois” . His father, a manual worker in the vineyards, gave him some of the vineyards in Montigny and he started his career as a wine grower at the age of 17 and has already made 50 harvests today. It grows 7.5 hectares of vines, 4.5 in white (Savagnin and Chardonnay) and 3 in red (Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir). The wines are of a great classicism with a fermentation with indigenous yeasts in vats before passing the wines on stage in large vats where they will soften for almost 2 years and are bottled without filtration. The whites are lively and firm in the mouth, in the reds the mineral and refined style appears with a structure more affirmed in Trousseau than in Poulsard, lighter and in a more aerial line.
